Three Islands: Mykonos, Paros & Antiparos

I recently returned from a journey through the Cyclades, starting with the iconic energy of Mykonos, staying at Cali Mykonos, slowing into the serene rhythms of Parīlio Paros, and finally the stillness of The Rooster, Antiparos.

Each destination brought something different:

  • Cali Mykonos: A high-design haven above the Aegean. It's vibrant and stylish, but really is a haven on the island. Mykonos is known for beach clubs, party and a high-energy atmosphere, but Cali is for those that want to dip their toes into that scene as and when they choose. The hotel has the longest pool I think I’ve ever seen (!), and a beautiful private bay. Therefore, if you want to spend days lazing around the hotel in true fly & flop style, you absolutely can, but when a party atmosphere calls, jump on one of the hotel’s private boats to arrive by water at one of the hot spots.

  • Parīlio Paros: minimalist luxury, earthy tones, soft light, and a Cycladic calm. As you walk into the hotel, there is a sense of calm, even alongside a perfectly-tuned pool atmosphere. This year, the hotel will welcome some villas too (ranging in sizes) so whether you’re planning a trip to Paros as 2 people, or a full group, Parīlio has everything you need.

  • The Rooster, Antiparos: The island that won me over, and has 100% become my favourite. There's a saying, “the best places are often the hardest to reach” and it's never felt truer (even though it’s only a 5 minute ferry from Paros). Antiparos remains authentic, untouched, and quietly luxurious. No rush, no noise - just the sea, the sky, and space to breathe. If you're craving a deeper connection to Greece, beyond the crowds and clichés, this corner of the Aegean is calling. Just be warned: you may never want to leave.

Tips & Tricks

  • Taxis: there aren’t a lot of them! Grab a hire car (think Fiat500 to whip around the island/s in), or we look after any private transfers of drivers needed.

  • Mykonos Town: get there after 8pm. This is when the cruise passengers have to get back on board so you don’t have to experience the town amongst the masses.

  • Ferries: they are busy. There isn’t much you can do to avoid that, so this is more of a pre-warning but if you’re planning on island hopping, packing light isn’t a bad option so you aren’t having to drag big suitcases on and off the ferries. We also plan private boats between the islands, if that is more your thing.

If you’re looking to island hop, be it the Cyclades or elsewhere in Greece, we would love to help you plan the perfect trip.
